StUbBoRn

It’s been raining a lot lately and I haven’t done much with my life…. just going to work and coming back home day after day. Today I got off work at ten in the morning like every Friday, and since it was raining cats and dogs I stayed inside my house all day long.

I saw the night was coming so I told Sebastian to go with me to the grocery store before it was too late. I’m afraid of walking alone at night in this town, because the streets are dark and I hate the croaking of the frogs coming from the ditches along the path.

We bought some things and retuned home trying to avoid the 100000 potholes that decorate our streets. It’s not that the mayor of the city doesn’t care about repairing the streets; the truth is that he wants our town to resemble the moon, full of craters, to make us feel we are in heaven. Clever guy, ah?

Back home, I was about to open the front door when I saw this little monster working very hard to rebuild her net.

Today, yesterday, and the day before, this tiny and stubborn spider has been trying to set her web in my door. The problem is that the only thing “she” catches is ME when I try to go out.

I can’t believe how obstinate she is!!! Well, possibly, it’s not the same spider; nevertheless, for sure it’s a relative LOL.

I’m going to wait a couple of hours to see if the web is ready and then I’ll take another picture….that if I don’t forget about it and the web ends all over my face AGAIN!!!

Have I told you how much I hate spiders? Well, I hate them A LOT. It doesn’t matter if they are big or small; they are all horrendous monsters that scare the hell out of me. You could perfectly say I’m arachnophobic, for when I see one either I get paralyzed or I overkill the enemy with whatever I have at hand. So, why on earth am I taking pictures of this one? Aha! That’s because I’m trying to face my phobia, that’s the new trend, isn’t it? I read it here and here

I also saw it on TV, but mostly I’m doing it because I’m bored and I have nothing else to do he he he.

Well, time to go. I want you to know I’m doing fine. I’ve missed you more than you can possibly imagine. I appreciate that you have stayed around all the time I was gone.

It is true when I say you are more than gifts to my soul.

Love you

UPDATE ( 3hours later)

Oops! I think I shouldn't have touched it.... LOL

UPDATE
Life is so strange sometimes……

While a friend of mine wants her son back from war, another of my friends goes voluntarily to a hostile land as a member of the UN. Different place, different reason, and perhaps, different outcome, but still an unfair and cruel war that shouldn’t exist.
This is my friend
Tato, one of my former English students and a good friend now.
He left in February to Ethiopia and he will be there at least for six months, probably for one year. I miss him a lot because we used to talk very often and most of all, because we used to laugh together a great deal.
I don’t know why I hadn’t mentioned this before in my posts, but since today I finished with his blog, I though it was a good moment to tell you about him.

Have a nice weekend people. I'm visiting you tomorrow :)

Hi Ani!!! Try not to be frightened, the spider is a hard working little creature and so good for the garden as it captures all the pests. Love the photos, very patient of you to wait for the web to be built. We have visitors this weekend so sadly no time to comment much. Just need to say Love you Loads and send MASSIVE {{{HUGS}}}

LOL Analia your post had me laughing, so good to see you back, missed you x

I too have a fear of spiders and have to admit I once sprayed one with spray starch that I use when ironing shirts (hangs head in shame:(... now I just holler for someone to rescue the poor spider or I just leave the room and pretend its not there.....lol

I was embarrassed into getting over my fear when I took my son when he was in playgroup to a wildlife centre. All the other moms held this rose tranantula,he gave me a look that said DONT YOU LET ME DOWN MOM, HOLD THE SPIDER!!! AND I DID :))

Arent their webs works of art though.

Hope your ok and send lots of ((((big hugs))))))))) your way.

Hi Ani,
How could we forget you? Glad you’re back.
I don't know if this is a universal believe but here, a spider is sign of money coming, so it's bad luck to kill one. I should be a millionaire by now. LOL

I just got a real and welcome surprise to find that you've got a new post!!! It has to be at least a positive sign, as in a step in the right direction - even if it has led you to a spider's web. Which could describe some of the darker, weirder, more perverse parts of the internet, couldn't it?
The last pic is the best. Now, go back out there in the dark and try getting in close and shooting some with flash. I haven't done that, but my hunch is it could be interesting. Would be could for beating the phobia too. Now, where's that headset.........?
Love, SXXXXXXXXXX

PS: Can I please change that "could" near the end to "good"? No? Awwww...

Las arañas son un ejemplo de paciencia, como demuestra tu historia; tienes razón que son bastante asquerosas, pero está bien que afrontes tus fobias... Besos y buen fin de semana,
V.

Sometime Analia I feel just like that spider. In this world of war I look at the future for me and maybe my future children with a lot anxiety. It's very difficult to build a future of peace and see that everyday someone destroy the web.

I understand...

See ya

Abrazos.

Thinking about the spider, you have such a lovely sense of humour when you write of serious things, Analia.

And about Tato. I pray that he returns safely. I'm sure he will. But I know how it is to miss friends, especially when someone becomes so closely attached to you. It is the same with me. Pure heartbreak. Friendship is very precious, I've learnt.
